Adorable Louis Aucoc (attributed to) french Art Nouveau multi color enamel and gemstone butterfly brooch circa 1900. The wings of the butterfly are masterfully crafted with multi color enamel, including vibrant red and orange. This Art Nouveau creation by famous French jeweler is accentuated with diamonds, sapphire, emeralds and rubies. The brooch is hallmarked with French Eagle mark and serial number. Measurements: 1.6" x 1.1" (4.1 cm x 2.7 cm). Weight: 8.7 gr. Another butterfly brooch by Louis Aucoc with the same use of red, orange and blue enamel was exhibited at the MFA Boston in the 2008 exhibition: Imperishable Beauty: Art Nouveau Jewelry.
